Mymarket.ge was started 10 years ago as a small local startup which now generates revenue of millions and is one of the top 10 most visited websites in Georgia. The website delivers open platform for users to upload products and services for sale. Users can negotiate prices and communicate with each other on the platform.
Mymarket was very successful from the beginning, but now when competition is rising on e-commerce industry refreshment and upgrade of the website was necessary.
With this product, we strive to sustain an online space where anyone can shop for anything and if bored of their old stuff be able to sell it very fast.
Mymarket has a decade of history in Georgian online space, so redesigning the whole website was a huge responsibility. It took us several months of focus groups, workshops, user testings, and Hotjar analytics to make the remaining clients happy while attract new ones.
Managing a design project on this scale is impossible without a design system. Every screen was designed with an approach of reusability and was tested in different scenarios and resolutions.
Research showed us that when buying products, especially second-hand products online, reviews are the most important part of decision making. So, to protect customers from dishonest sellers and encourage high service standards within the sellers' community we introduced reviews to mymarket.
Adding a listing on mymarket is a key feature for our platform. For years it was tailored for casual sellers, who want to sell some of their unused second-hand items. But with time mymarket became the biggest e-commerce platform and we needed to make adjusted.
We made listing process designed for big shops with large stock. Also added variants feature, so now shop administrators can create one product listing and link all variants of this product in one streamlined process.
At the beginning of Mymarket’s existence, the primary source of income where adds. Research showed that excessive advertisement was the biggest reason for dissatisfaction for our users. Based on this insight company reduced add spaces and is planning to generate income with product promotions. That's why easy to use promotion feature was designed.
We tried to refresh and improve every aspect of Mymarket. So bose customers and sellers feel comfortable navigating and using Mymarket daily.
